About Us

Aquatayf is a biotechnology company established on January 11, 2018, within the ARI Technopark of Istanbul Technical University, with the support of TÜBİTAK's 1512 entrepreneurship program. It conducts research and experimental development activities.


We are working on the commercialization of microbial-derived enzymes that we have identified as unique by isolating them from organisms known to adapt to desired conditions within our rich Anatolian microbiota and culture, and then genetically and biochemically characterizing them.

Furthermore, with our current capabilities and infrastructure, we provide laboratory services including DNA sequencing, basic microbiological and genetic analyses in line with the requests we receive from organizations in our country that conduct research, development, design and production of high and medium-level technology manufacturing products.

With our results reports based on the protocols we have optimized, we aim to contribute to ongoing research and development activities, especially in our universities.

The Importance of Using Model Microorganisms in Biomedical Studies

The evidence pyramid includes scientific research techniques that indicate the diagnostic level. At the base of the pyramid are in-vitro studies, cell culture studies, and studies conducted with model microorganisms. In the literature, the results of these initial steps, conducted with model microorganisms, can be examined and evaluated collaboratively and interdisciplinarily to more clearly determine which scientific data should be used at which level of evidence. This will also allow for a more important assessment of the number of studies and the number of experimental animals needed for the higher levels of the evidence pyramid. Studies conducted with model microorganisms are currently a prominent topic in terms of the sustainable use of global resources and public health.
